Professor Vijaya Marisetty is currently working as Fintech professor in the Financial Engineering group at the University of Twente, Netherlands and the University of Hyderabad, India. His current research focus aims to understand the role of technology interventions in addressing SDG goals. In particular, his focus is on blockchain technology and its integration with Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things. He received several research grants from Ministry of Education, Government of India, Reserve Bank of India, Ministry of Electronics and IT, Government of India, Synchrony IT, New York University, National Stock Exchange of India. Over the last 20 years, Prof. Marisetty has published in leading finance, accounting and economics journals and received several best paper awards. He is the recipient of Citation of Excellence award from Emerald publishers and Distinguished contribution to emerging markets research from Chartered Financial Analysts, USA. Prof. Marisetty worked as a consultant for World Bank and United Nations projects. He runs several blockchain initiatives and mentors blockchain startup companies. His co-founded startup, Inclusive Growth Chain, has received Blockchain International Hackathon Prize 2022 in Dubai. He holds a Ph.D. in finance from Monash University, Australia, and Post-Doc from Wharton Business School and Indian School of Business.
